Waterfront Riva with view to the Marijan Hill

Crossing the Bana Jelačića and the passage of Prokurativa you will stay in the middle of this famous complex with its architecture in Venetian style which was built in the 18. century by the mayor Bajamonti.

Take a seat on the Prokurativa with a cup of coffe or fresh orange juice and enjoy the view.

At the back of Prokurativa, on the east side of Marmontova, you will find the authentic fish market built in the 18. century.

Citizens and restaurant owners come early in the morning to find freshly caught fish like Seabream, Sardines and Tuna.

At the back of the waterfront the cathedral of Split Sveti Duje rises up, part of the complex of the Palace Diocletian. It’s the main attraction of the old part of Split and since 1979 world cultural heritage.

Crossing the basement of Diocletian’s Palace you ascent to the open space of the Peristyle, one of the most notable architectural complexes of the palace.

Locals love their beautiful beaches Kašune and Bene south-west of Marijan Hill. You will reach them by bicycle or bus in less then 10 minutes (bus station is just 5 min. away from the apartment).

You can climb Marijan hill from Veli Varoš by a system of carefully planned flights of steps, landings and observation points with fantastic view to Split and the habour.

The natural reserve on the Marjan Hill provide beachs in a natural environment, and different kind of sport activities like rollerblading, running, bicycling or do fitness as you like. What ever you decide, you will enjoy the natural area in the summer time.
